Foliose, up to 12 cm in diameter, loosely adhering to the substrate, with short, smooth lobes and raised enlarged margins, the spaces separating the lobes are rounded

Pale gray-green upperside, black underside

Apothecia: very rare, 6 mm in diameter, crenate margin
Soralia: on lobe margins, granular whitish to greenish
