Foliose, up to 15 cm in diameter, cut-out lobes of 5 mm wide, with a network of white fissures (pseudocyphellae) present at least at the lobe margins and giving soralia (3)

Bluish-gray to greenish-grey upperside, brown and black underside

Apothecia: rare, reddish-brown disc
Soralia: more or less abundant, greenish and emanating from the pseudocyphellae
